It's finally here: Last week, we started with the project "Learn to swim" in Sir Lowry's Pass Village.
Each year, many children and even adults drown. Swimming lessons are obvious in Germany. In Sir Lowry's Pass only a few people are able to swim. This causes many terrible accidents. It was clear that something had to be done about it and I spent quite some time thinking about what we can do. We are trying to teach all preschool children from Sir Lowry's Pass Village how to swim. A gift for their life! My two friends Anja and Sandra, two qualified swimming teachers, Ruth V. (the mother of a sponsored child) and Mac (transport) are supporting me.
Naturally, we have started with the children from Emily's Play School. The first day was very exciting.
Our swimming instructors Joleen and Mariska welcomed the kids at the municipality pool in Strand.
First of all the children have to learn to feel comportable in the water. For most of them it is their first time in the pool.
Mariska's plays with the kids with a lot of passion and patience, so that they get used to the water.
Many thanks to all, who are supporting this project (specially to Project:Help).
